“Malcolm” is our response from the recent hate crimes towards Asians within North America. As a creator I have the opportunity to create art with a political meaning. Anger flowed throughout the asian community as recent hate crimes towards Asians came to light. We wanted to put something positive into the world and turn that anger into something positive and hopeful. "Malcolm" is a film about a young Asian-American college student and his journey from self-hate toward self-love. Paying homage to all the leaders such as Malcolm X for their work in fighting against racism.
